'The White Lotus' actor also praised Tom Felton, who played his son Draco in the films, for reprising his role in 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' on Broadway.

Jason Isaacs is passing the torch to the new Lucius Malfoy.

On Monday, HBO announced nine more castmembers in the upcoming series, including who will play the Malfoy father and son Slytherins. Ripley actor and musician Johnny Flynn was cast as Lucius Malfoy and newcomer Lox Pratt will play Draco Malfoy.

Shortly after the casting news broke, Isaacs, who played the role in the films, took to X to share his support for Flynn, “A fantastic actor, a lovely man and, irritatingly, a rather brilliant musician too. Couldn’t have handed the snake-topped baton on to anyone better. Just please don’t make him sing…”

Last week, Harry Potter fans also got more exciting news when it was announced on Thursday that Tom Felton, who played Draco in the films, would play Draco again — but in the Broadway show Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which begins on Nov. 11 and is a 19-week engagement through March 22, 2026.

Felton attended the Tony Awards on Sunday and was a presenter, to which Isaacs took to X to confirm that he will go see his movie son on Broadway. “Saw you presenting on the Tonys tonight son — you looked good, sounded good and did great. Tickets booked for November x,” Isaacs wrote.

Prior to the award show airing, Felton spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about how it’s the “perfect” time to step back into the role of Draco, because in the play, Draco is now a Dad and the same age that Felton is in real life. “Now, it’s very much reprising the role, but also creating a new one because he’s a father now. He doesn’t want to make the same mistakes that Lucius made with Draco,” Felton said. “So, it’s familiar, but it’s brand, brand new, so I’m really excited for that.”
